Rehabilitation Loan Program

These loan funds may be used to make your home more livable, accessible and energy efficient, in Nobles, Murray, Pipestone, and Rock Counties. All applicants MUST apply for the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) prior to applying for this Home Repair Loan Program.

Eligible Improvements:
An MHFA loan may be used for basic and necessary improvements
that make the home more livable and energy efficient, such as:
• Mechanical—electrical, plumbing, and heating systems
• Structural—roofs, foundations, flooring, and stairways
• Energy—insulation, windows, doors
• Compliance—applicable housing codes

Persons with a disability may use a loan for:
• Ramp or mechanical lift
• Widened doorways
• Bathroom fixtures and layout
• Kitchen and laundry modifications
• Wheel-In Shower Stalls

Small Cities Development Program (SCDP)

If you would like to apply for the Small Cities Rehabilitation Program available in your town, please contact your city council.
