Mid-Level Practitioner

Overview
Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council is excited to offer full-time Practitioner services in our expanding Family Planning program. We are seeking a full-time (32 – 40 hours/week) Mid-Level Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) to complete developmentally appropriate reproductive health examinations and provide culturally sensitive care to clients. Program service area includes 15 counties in SW MN, with a primary focus on the southernmost counties. The Provider will be based in Worthington office.

Specific Skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to details. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual skills are highly preferred, not required, and capacity to work with interpreters. Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. Commitment to adhering to data privacy and confidentiality. Proficiency with technology such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Electronic Health Record navigation and data entry. Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and valid vehicle insurance. Available for travel to clinic locations to cover Provider needs when necessary. Able to lift up to 20 lbs and carry supplies, standing and walking during weekly clinics. Blood/Fluids/Tissue Exposure Risks potential.
Responsible For
  • Provide gynecological, family planning, sexually transmitted infections screening and treatment, pregnancy evaluation and referrals, counseling related to birth control options, including IUD and Nexplanon insertion and removals.
  • Oversee dispensing of medications following 340B guidelines
  • Review client’s health history to determine needs, care, and appropriate referrals
  • Client interviewing, assessment, and education to supplement nursing and intake work
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Adhere to professional and ethical standards within licensure guidelines and SMOC code of conduct

Master’s Degree Graduate from an approved accredited Advanced Practice program and certified as FNP, WHNP, CNM, PA and current license in the state of Minnesota · Minimum of 2-years’ experience in reproductive health care preferred · Possess current, valid Minnesota License for Certified FNP, WHNP, CNM, PA · Current CPR-AED certification

Salary
Starting annual salary is $124,800.  This is a salaried, exempt position.
