Overview
SMOC, a non-profit organization, is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Classroom Assistant Teacher at our Head Start center in Pipestone MN.
Head Start programs prepare America’s most vulnerable young children to succeed in school and in life beyond school. To achieve this, Head Start programs deliver services to children and families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way.
The Head Start Preschool Program in Pipestone is a half-day, center-based classroom that serves 3- and 4-year-old children
Specific Skills
Bilingual skills are not required but preferred. Ability to work with 3–5-year-old children. Ability to take directions from supervisor. Ability to lift and carry supplies. Confidentiality.

Educational Requirements
Head Start Preschool assistant teacher, at a minimum, must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, be enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or, be enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.
Salary
Starting hourly rate $18.84
