The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills, along with experience in training, evaluation, and program development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for leading meetings, conducting trainings, preparing reports, and collaborating effectively with staff, families, and community partners.

This position requires the ability to build positive relationships, maintain a professional representation of the organization, and work effectively in culturally diverse and active early childhood environments with varying noise and sensory levels. Candidates must be comfortable using computers and standard office equipment, traveling between program sites, lifting up to 55 pounds, and performing duties that may include sitting, standing, stooping, squatting, and moderate driving.

Responsible For

Under the supervision of the Head Start Director, this position oversees integrated Head Start and Early Head Start education and family services, ensuring high-quality early childhood programming that promotes school readiness, social-emotional development, and meaningful family engagement.

Based primarily in Worthington, MN, this role supports programs across Nobles, Rock, Murray, and Pipestone counties and works closely with families, staff, schools, and community partners to ensure children and families receive comprehensive, coordinated services.

The Education & Family Services Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and support for Head Start education and family engagement services. This role works collaboratively with teaching staff, family advocates, and program leadership to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards while promoting excellence in service delivery.

The Coordinator supports classroom quality, staff development, family partnerships, and program planning to help children and families achieve their goals and thrive.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Services, Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred
  • Early Childhood Education degree or equivalent coursework with early childhood or Head Start experience preferred
Experience Requirements
A minimum of two years’ experience in early childhood education, family services, home visiting, or Head Start/Early Head Start programs is preferred
Salary
Starting annual salary $54,972-$58,888 based on skill, education and experience
